For the 2011 model year, Acura refreshed its flagship RL sedan. What is "refreshed" means when it comes to RL? It may not look like much more than a cosmetic touch, but there are quite a few new tricks performed by-PIN stored skin.
2011 Acura RL continues to use the 300-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine that powers all four wheels courtesy of the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive. The new gearbox is a six-speed sequential automatic transmission Sportshift. It has a smooth-shifting unit that allows random online courtesy of the sporty wheel mounted paddles at the same time improving fuel economy by two miles per gallon highway - scores come from the EPA at 17 city and 24 mpg highway.
An improved gearbox is nice and all, but since it is an Acura, we are looking more for the new technologies. The RL 2011 is equipped with Helmholtz resonators on wheels (a "first world" of a passenger vehicle). These rooms sit in the middle of the inside of the wheel and help reduce road noise, resulting in a quieter cabin. Along with the increased floor insulation, the 2011 Acura RL acts as a library on the road. Unless of course you turn the knob to the ELS audio system.
In front, the 2011 Acura RL grille has been revised to soften the angry hawk nose, while maintaining the signature of the Acura looks ... different views on how successful the new schnoz. A brand new 18x8-inch 15-spoke aluminum wheel arches and help to make is wrapped in Michelin Pilot all-season rubber.
The 2011 model year, Acura refreshed its flagship RL sedan. What is "refreshed" means, with regard to RL? It may not seem like much more than a cosmetic touch-ups, but quite a few new tricks' execution slipped into the skin with the PIN.
Overall, the changes in the 2011 Acura RL are minor, less noise and the transfer date wheel reduction. We had the opportunity to sample a short '11 model roads north of San Francisco, and unfortunately there is not much to get excited. Rest of the range, regardless of how you think design has a sporty driving experience that does not eat a luxury. RL feels heavier than it should at the same time have a driving experience that feels like a lot of years in comparison to his brothers Acura. We know that the goal is a different market segment, but it does not mean that it loses the characteristics of driving a long time Acura buyers expect.
